ON THE WORKSHOP:
OWNERSHIP IS ONE OF THE KEYS - Independence is powerful, but so is networking and working with those who've already done what you're looking to do. In This Workshop, we discuss the importance of understanding your Interest in songs eg Writer and Publisher Interests as it relates to music publishing, and how these ownership interests notate you or your entity as a world class enterprise, author, or copyright holder
PERFORMANCE AND MECHANICAL RIGHTS - Although there are over seven different royalties collected from publishing, the most accessible are performance and mechanical rights. For an industry that has Global Revenues of approximately $22B, performance and mechanical revenues represent a significant portion of those revenues, also in a B. Knowing this area is of paramount importance
MANAGING YOUR MUSIC AS A CATALOGUE AND LIBRARY - Remember, this is publishing. We teach our students how to go about music licensing the right way, not blindly pitching or hoping for the best, but strategically building your network to better your chances at landing your music in the next visual media project. Our licenses have been cleared for over $100K to date
